The article presents the characteristics and the goals of the business intelligence subsystem in the enterprise and describes his informative role in an integrated management information system. An example of functional structure of business intelligence subsystem, review and comparison of selected manufacturers of integrated management information system has been characterized in the first part of the paper. Next the basic characteristics of selected BI on the Polish market has been analyzed.
