. The work covers issues related to the design of biometric systems based on the palm vein and forearm vein patterns. The study includes analysis of various stages of biometric system design ranging from acquisition, contrast enhancement, feature extraction and biometric pattern creation for verification methods. To extract specific features a two-dimension density function will be used. The article features the results of tests carried out on two different bases of blood vessels in a hand and forearm.
