Indonesia is formed by regions that have a variety of unique characteristics, languages, values, and symbols that originate from the culture of Indonesian society. As an Indonesian citizen, it can be a matter of pride and must always preserve it. There are several ways to preserve culture in Indonesia, including architecture. The application of cultural symbols in a building can be a promotion to introduce culture in Indonesia. Moreover, Indonesia began to glance to be the host of a major sporting event. Submitting symbolic messages to sports buildings is an effective way to introduce Indonesian culture to the world. The research method used in the study is descriptive qualitative. The method of data collection is done by primary surveys in the form of observations, interviews, literature studies, and documentation. The observation method was carried out to find out the symbol of the building in a sports building. The method of collecting data in this study is by observing several elements such as floors, walls, and roofs of sports buildings which are thought to have symbols that have cultural characteristics. Thing. So this research aims to understand the symbolic concepts that contain meaning from elements of Indonesian culture, as well as its application in sports buildings.
