This document specifies the frame format for transmission of IPv6packets and the method of forming IPv6 link-local addresses andstatelessly autoconfigured addresses on Ethernet networks. It alsospecifies the content of the Source/Target Link-layer Address optionused in Router Solicitation, Router Advertisement, NeighborSolicitation, Neighbor Advertisement and Redirect messages when thosemessages are transmitted on an Ethernet.
