The Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) [1] provides a standard method fortransporting multi-protocol datagrams over point-to-point links. Thisdocument describes the use of PPP over Synchronous Optical Network(SONET) and Synchronous Digital Heirarchy (SDH) circuits. Thisdocument replaces and obsoletes RFC 1619. See section 7 for a summaryof the changes from RFC 1619. This document is the product of thePoint-to-Point Protocol Extensions Working Group of the InternetEngineering Task Force (IETF).
