Spatial, Semantic and Semiologic Analysis of Bursa-Korupark Shopping Center and Korupark Houses Abstract: Globalization affects not only the production and consumption of products, but also the spaces of consumption. In recent years it is seemed that the number of shopping centers increases gradually in a lot of cities and they have become major attraction points in urban patterns. However change in consumption practices can be seen in residential areas, too. Today, many gated communities are built in a lot of cities and there is no doubt that present-day gated communities constitute an urban phenomenon with new physical features and social implications. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyze the spatial, semantic and semiologic dimensions of a project in Bursa called Korupark Shopping Center and Korupark Houses which involve both a shopping center and a gated community. In this study different methods are used together such as the examination of written sources and archives, interviews with competent persons from relevant institutions and simple observations about the implementations in the project area. In the introduction part of the study, the concept of consumption have been explained through the development of shopping centers and gated communities, in the second part general information about the Korupark Project has been mentioned, in the third part the Korupark Project has been analyzed in terms of spatial, semantic and semiologic dimensions and in the fourth part the analysis have been evaluated totally. Finally, it has been determined that the Project has little regard to "environmental context" in terms of spatial dimension. Social - economic isolation and poor spatial memory in terms of semantic dimension and connotative meanings related to the ideology of consumption have been come forward in terms of semiologic dimension.
