Plants are rich in antioxidants which play an essential role in disease prevention. Amaranthus viridis linn. Is a common medicinal plant, spread throughout the world is used in traditional ayurvedic medicine. The present study was aimed to examine the protective effect of partially purified alkaloids (PPA) from Amaranthus viridis against hydrogen peroxide induced oxidative damage in human erythrocytes in vitro conditons.
