The data were generated by oral and written narratives of public school teachers about the institutional dynamics in relation to the participation of children in the different moments of the routines. We found that the lack of recognition of child participation is connected to conceptions, discourses and practices linked to the idea of a pedagogical relationship based on images of children who are in need, incompetent, immature, that feeds in practice a certain type of resistance to the right of the child to participate.
