Onur Atilla Ozet Ortodontik tedavi olmak amaciyla kliniklere basvuran hasta populasyonunun incelenmesi, klinik ihtiyaclarinin bu bulgulara gore duzenlenmesi acisindan buyuk onem tasimaktadir. Bu calismada klinigimize basvuran hasta populasyonunda malokluzyon dagiliminin yanisira, basvurduklari iller, bagli olduklari kurum ve ongorulen tedavi planlamalari incelenmistir. Malokluzyon tipleri Angle siniflamasina gore belirlenmistir. Calismamizin materyalini, Ocak 2002 ve Kasim 2004 tarihleri arasinda Suleyman Demirel Universitesi Dishekimligi Fakultesi Ortodonti Klinigine basvuran 2844 hasta olusturmaktadir (1662 kiz, 1182 erkek). Bireylerin ortalama yasi 13.26. dir. Arastirmamizin sonuclarina gore klinigimize basvuran hastalarin cogunlugunun Antalya.dan geldigi (%42.83), hastalarin en cok Emekli Sandigina bagli oldugu (%48.35), cogunda Angle Sinif I malokluzyon bulundugu (%65.65) ve en yuksek oranda sabit tedavi ongoruldugu (%72.08) tespit edilmistir. Anahtar kelimeler: Basvuran hasta, Hasta populasyonu, Malokluzyon Abstract Evaluation of a population referred for orthodontic treatment Evaluation of patients referred for orthodontic treatment is of great importance for planning an ortodontic service. This study investigated social incurences, the cities where the patients referred from and treatment alternatives as well as distribution of malocclusions in a referred population. The material of the study was composed of 2844 (1662 girls, 1182 boys) patients referred to the Department of Orthodontics, Suleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Dentistry between January 2002 and November 2004. Mean age of the subjects was 13.26 years. According to our results, patients were referred mostly from Antalya. Most of the patients had social insurance from Emekli Sandigi. Angle Class I was the most frequently seen malocclusion type and most common treatment alternative was the fixed orthodontic treatment. Anahtar kelimeler: Referred Population, Malocclusion
