ABSTRACT Currently, there is not any biogas plant in Canakkale. Results of the study indicate that Canakkale has a grand potential of biogas production. From the number of the animals (bovine, ovine and poultry), received from Canakkale Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, and the calculation of the manure, it is calculated that approximately 96 934 753 m 3 of biogas could be gained, annually. During the process, it is taken into consideration that chemical and biological factors are at optimum level. Canakkale is in the second rank after the potential general of Thrace area.
