Objective. The article is an academic reflection that explores the role of Universidad de Caldas in the processes of reconciliation envisaged from the municipality of La Dorada. Methodology. The article explores authors such as Yarn, Martin Barbero and the United States Peace Institute to understand the role of higher education in territories affected by violence. Qualitative research was conducted with interviews and focus groups. Results. This component is divided into three parts: a) analysis of the voice of the students, b) role of the University in armed conflict contexts, c) new pedagogy for the territory. Conclusion. It is concluded that recognizing the memory of students to reach forgiveness and reconciliation can generate real possibilities of overcoming the armed conflict and that the integration of several faculties of the University, each with its potential, can build strategies of shared value.
