The objective of the present study is to determine and compare total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS), oxidative stress index (OSI) values and heavy metal content of Omphalotus olearius samples, known as a poisonous mushroom and gathered from Adana (Karaisali) and Antalya (Konyaalti) provinces. TAS, TOS and OSI values were determined using Rel Assay kits. Heavy metal content was measured with atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results of this study demonstrated that the sample gathered in Antalya had a higher oxidative stress index and generally higher heavy metal content.
