This is an interpretation and analysis work done upon the position and value in the new-literature and thought world of the poem “Merkad-i Fâtih’i Ziyâret” penned by Abdulhak Hamid about the visit to Fâtih Sultan Mehmed, whom is regarded as the first genius of After-Tanzimat Era Turkish Poetry. Since it has been written, this poem serves as a verbal tomb keeper close at hand of Fâtih Sultan Mehmet. This text which granted Hamid a privileged position in the literature history, is a ‘horizon-text’, supplying the reader with the ability to detect and register Fâtih’s vision and contemplation scope with respect to their literary aspects; hence, it is significant and meaningful. The poem’s including the correct and deep remark of Ottoman soul and life, takes it to the pinnacle of poetic understanding. “Merkad-i Fâtih’i Ziyâret” has the signs of other poets eyes, yet this only enhances Hamid’s uniqueness.
