Chagas, a lógica e a descoberta

O artigo examina como o acaso e o erro estão à raiz da descoberta de Chagas sobre a nova entidade mórbida que tomou seu nome. Do ponto de vista da epistemologia histórica, se faz uma reavaliação dos caminhos tomados pela pesquisa de Chagas, lançando dúvidas sobre a versão que se tornou oficial e concluindo que a lógica da história contradiz o direito da lógica. This article examines how chance and error were at the root of Carlos Chagas' discovery of the new disease entity that was subsequently named after him. From the perspective of historical epistemology, the author reviews the pathways taken by Chagas' research and raises doubts as to what became the official version, concluding that the logic of history contradicts the right of logic
