Modernization of the higher education system in Belarus is carried out in connection with the implementation of the EHEA`s Roadmap. People used the whole complex of pedagogical means to achieve this goal, including system of pedagogical practices. During these practices students are assigned a quality that match their qualifications. Geographical field practice performed in order to develop the applied component of the theoretical foundations of the discipline, and also to obtain professional skills and apply them in the professional field in the future tense. Field practice contribute to the development of motivational and personal qualities (communication and organizational skills) and professional (development of pedagogical skill, creation of conditions for realization of research works. This article discusses changes in the structure and organization of field practices in geography at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after M.Tank.
