The objective of the present investigation is the experimental determination of the material properties for application of the local strain concept. This concept is mainly applied for the design of engineering structures which are subjected to time dependant variable loads which are causing elasticplastic stress-strain-cycles in the high stressed spots during the operation of the structure. The investigations relate to two different glass-fiber reinforced plastics. The materials differ mainly in the arrangement of the fibers: amorphous and multi-axial layers (+/45).
