Cobalt (II) perchlorate hexahydrate reacts with pyrazole based tripodal scorpionate ligand 1-methoxy-2,2,2tris(pyrazol-1-yl) ethane (1) in methanol, acetonitrile and water mixture as solvent to produce a new compound bis[1-methoxy-2,2,2-tris-(pyrazol-1-yl-κN2) ethane]-cobalt (II) bis-perchlorate (2). Pale yellow color block crystals suitable for single crystal X-ray diffraction study of the title complex were obtained by slow evaporation of the filtered reaction mixture in air. Title complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with unit cell parameters, a = 8.5762(1)Å, b =8.9617(1)Å, c = 11.6820(2) Å, α= 109.7814(7)o, β=93.1681(7)o and γ= 98.1972(7)o.
