We The leiuperid genus Physalaemus is widespread in South America. The Maracas dwarf frog Physalaemus cicada occurs in southeastern and northeastern Brazil, mainly in Caatinga biome. Herein, we updated the distribution of P. cicada, presenting new data on distribution on Ceará, Pernambuco, Piauí and Rio Grande do Norte states, Brazil.
