During a field expedition in January 2005 at the municipality of Cachoeiras de Macacu, also in the state of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil (22°23.291' S, 42°34.891' W; ca. 700 m) we found and collected one calling male of Hylodes charadranates. This species is diurnally active and some others individuals were found during the day sitting on the rocks and low marginal vegetation along forest streams. The specimen was deposited at the Museu Nacional, Rio de Janeiro (MNRJ 42645).
