ight populations of Blitum virgatum L., belonging to 5 different phytogeographic regions have been karyologically and morphologically tested. Intrapopulation and interpopulation variability have been traced. The rеlationship between morphological and karyological variability, ecological, and geographic appurtenance of the studied populations has been explored. The main source of phenotype variation in all population is the interpopulation variation. Interpopulation differences are influenced by the differences in karyotypes, environmental conditions and composition of communities.
