Argument. The article presents the situation of a disabled woman in the modern world, with particular emphasis on the problem of searching for identity in unfavorable civilization conditions. The main thesis of the article is the statement that disability poses a threat to the sense of identity, femininity and attractiveness. The concepts discussed. The authors focused on showing the problems of confronting the physical limitations of a woman with her sense of femininity and attractiveness. The phenomenon of identity in the philosophical and psychological approach is described. An analysis of the concept and problem of disability was made, showing also the development chances associated with it. The topic of the threats that disability creates for a sense of femininity is discussed. The main part of the article are reflections on the perception of a disabled woman in a broad social perspective. Results and conclusions. It was found that the difficult social situation of people with disabilities is particularly problematic for women. Disability is an important element that strikes a sense of femininity, and as a consequence is a threat to self-esteem. In most cases, inefficiency becomes an important, often central element of a person's personal identity, and identity is strongly based on the feeling of sexuality. That is why building positive self-esteem among disabled women is a particularly difficult and important developmental challenge.
