It is frequent to find an intensive use of Living Conditions Surveys in socioeconomic literature, with the intention of studying income size distributions characteristics and obtaining social indicators, as inequality and poverty indexes for instance. First of all an concerning with this, this paper shows singular divergences between the aggregated information provided by these surveys about households incomes and the provided one by Spanish Regional Accounts. Additionally, magnitudes of divergences have been quantified. Secondly and looking for help to understand how these divergences could influence those indicators, size income distributions characteristics have been analyzed in relation to characteristics of households and recipients. Finally and based on observed, this paper consider the possibility of correcting microdata in order to obtain better indicators that inform more realistically about reality. Consequently, a flexible elemental correction method has been proposed, immediately applied to survey´s microdata and its results analyzed. Analysis show that corrected data seems to mitigate some of deficiencies originally detected in data.
