In this paper, we the present business organization, key roles, most common techniques and ownership of the means of production used in the Saharan Bank fishing industry. This required sufficient capital investment and work and business planning to attain profitability and make the risk worthwhile. Developing this activity involved various groups which shared certain peculiarities. There were other jobs which separated them because of their position in the production process. These differences shaped their world view. Firms constantly participated in the Saharan Bank and did not stop even circumstantially. Although international politics and internal development of the Canary Islands varied, with ups and downs, there was always a presence of island fishermen in this stretch of ocean.
