A brief approximation is made to the Orature term and the presence of it in the Portuguese expression literature in Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa (PALOPs). The illustrated books Ynari, a menina das cinco trancas and O Leao e o Coelho Saltitao are analyzed with the purpose of establishing a connection between Orature and children`s literature of Ondjaki.
