The article substantiates the economic security phenomenon as a polystructural system and defines the basic properties and isolation of modern economic security models. It is proved that an important condition for choosing a model of economic security is the type of socioeconomic system that develops in a society, depending on which several conceptual models of economic security are distinguished. In the conditions of the market economic system development, the model of state economic sovereignty is used, the dominant feature of which is the idea of free competition. The administrative system of economy provides for the application of the model of economic closeness, which is characterized by the high level of state regulation influence, as well as the planned development system, which ensures the security policy implementation. For transitional economies, the model of evolutionary modernization is more widespread, which involves a combination of governance decentralization with the implementation of economic and social reforms aimed at developing market-based economic mechanisms. Based on the systematic approach and the study of the hierarchical structure of the economic security system, its main features are defined: integrity and divisibility; emergence; synergy between the international economic security system components (components); interconnection and interdependence of components; purposefulness; constancy and instability; hierarchy and polystructure; openness; complementarity; institutional certainty. Taking into account certain structural components and hierarchy of economic security levels in the current conditions of the spatial structure of the world economy, it can be determined that, on the one hand, national economic security in relation to the security of regions, economic entities and security of the individual becomes an appropriate supersystem. At the same time, national economic security emerges as a subsystem of international economic security, which is a structural component of global economic security, the object of which is the protection of the global economic order and sustainable development. The article material is a continuation of the author's previous research on the development of scientific and methodological tools for multidimensional assessment of the countries economic security level.
