This paper presents a case study of an agricultural project. From a desktop research model (stage 1), a web-based whole-farm simulator was developed applying a waterfall life cycle (stage 2) but several problems were detected and the project failed. The project was continued (stage 3) applying crystal clear agile method, which suited better the requirements. An efficient team communication and the frequent delivery of usable code increasingly contributed to the sponsor's satisfaction. It was positively concluded that crystal clear was able to rescue the project and that it could be applied in a short-term period without major difficulties.
