In this study, we are trying to touch upon the Ghilan question which occupied an important place in the Ottoman and Safavid states’ history in the last decade of the 16th century. This problem, with the contribution of bilateral lenient policies and the sudden death of Khan of Ghilan, ended without any serious complication. We have also stıdied the official correspondences between the Ottoman and Safavid
