Mehmet Ali Kaya Septimius Severus who was bom in Lepcis Manga, one of the three towns of Tripolitania in northem AFica, was not the first provincial emperor of Rame. However, he was not the jirst emperor not originally Roman and Italian. Septimius Severus, who was originally Phoenike, was not reached the throne throughout the legal ways. Negative attitudes of Roman People agahıst Didius Iulianus, who had bought Fom Praetorian Quard imperial throne, had been the starting process in which Septimius Severus accessed the throne of Rome. In this process, he had two rivals. The first of his rivals was governing in Syria province which was the territory of Septimius' wife. Septimius Severus jirst fought with this rival, named Pescennius Niger, in Anatolia. He used roads passing through Anatolia both in these wars and his campaigns towards to the East. The Romalı provinces, cities, towns and villages in Anatolia were influenced positively or negatively during his campaigns via Anatolia and his policy as an emperor.
