Timar Tevcihâtı ile ilgili Kaynaklarda Yer Alan Kayıtların Karşılaştırılmasına Dair Bir Deneme An Essay on Comparison of the Records Taking Place in the Sources Concerning Timar Allocations

In this article timar system, a crucial institution of the Ottoman Empire in terms of its military power and so its political power, and the records of Defterhâne-i Âmire, which contains important information on this system, are examined. In this framework, the records of mufassal, icmal and ruznamçe which occupy an important place in the said series of Defter-i Hâkâni are compared sampling the XVI th century timar owners of the district of Ayintab (Antep) and the allocations that was given to these timar owners. With the comparison of the said registers, as ideas about the functioning of Ottoman Bureaucracy are tried to be formed, it is also aimed to reveal data that is useful to understand its administrative philosophy as well.
