İn present, the chemotherapy of cancer with available drugs and drug combinations are inefficient and there are no efficient therapy for many type of cancer. Angiogenesis is an exiting and promising area of anti-cancer drug research. This concept has opened the door to a multitude of new approaches and targets for developing anti-cancer therapies. The potential new anti-angio genetic therapies offer the possibility for improved efficacy of available drugs and reduced toxicity. In particular, old drugs such as talidomit and small molecule inhibitors of tumorpromoted angiogenesis are more investigated recently. In addition, thyrosine kinase inhibitors offer an attractive approach to the development of small molecule therapies for inhibiting tumor poliferation and angiogenesis. The relationship between cancer and angiogenesis and the new drugs for inhibition of angiogenesis were discussed within this review.
