in this study, Iuppiter, who is the god mentioned frequently in the lyric poems of Horace, is analysed with respect to his characteristics, identities, and the matters he considers. Horace presents Iuppiter, a supreme and a iinique power, as the god putting in order the universe like a father of human being and protecting everthing from danger like a guardian. Iuppiter is described in the poems of Horace as the god warning people in most cases, getting angry and piinishing them occasionally, and granting them when he is gratified. The main finding of this study is that Horace represents Iuppiter in his lyric poems as a benevolent god for human being in order to put in order the society regardless of the ways in which he behaves. So, he helps people achieve repose and happiness.
