Various aspects concernüig the lives and problems of Turkish immigrants and theirfamilies, who have been working in Germany for över 40 years, have been dealt with in contemporary German and Turkish literatüre. The image of the Türk has been subject to detailed investigation and scrutiny in the work entitled "Leben im gelobten Land" (Life in the Promised Land) in which the German author Max von der Grün offered his readers an account of the Turkish worker Osman Gürlük.
