The purpose of this project is to analyze the aspects of sustainable tourism according to three dimensions ecological, social and economical – focused on the tourism destinations of District of São Jorge/Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros and Rio Quente Resorts, following the concepts of sustainable tourism of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO). The main objective of this project is to identify the negative aspects of tourism activity in the tourist destinations, as well as to come up with suggestions in order to diminish the impact of tourist activity on the tourist destinations. The focus is the preservation of the natural resources, the local community’s identity and the providence of means for the local inhabitants to participate in the economical development process.
