The problem of pain objective appraisal and lines of investigations for its solution are outlined. The authors consider a human body within a framework of thermodynamics, and study the energy sources of dispersion and absorption of thermal energy taking into the account specific features of pain syndrome. They suggest assessing the pain syndromes by infrared thermal imaging and radiothermometry. This allows for more precise diagnosis including localization of pain and discrimination of its intensity.
