This study has been conducted to find out the impacts of high school students’ intentions in the use of social media and their adoption level of social media on their success. The survey, comprised of the scale used to analyze the purposes of use of social media, scale of social media adoption and the scale used to measure impact of social media on education, was applied on 1167 students from many schools who volunteered to participate in the districts of Pendik and Kartal in Istanbul. The data collected from the survey were analyzed in electronic environment thanks to SPSS 17.0 statistic package software. In case of comparison of two quantitative data, t-test was used to find out the difference between two groups, One-way Anova Test was used in the comparison of parameters in more than two groups and Tukey Post Hoc Test was used to spot the group causing the discrepancy. The relationship between dependent and independent variants was tested by using Pearson correlation; on the other hand the influence was tested with the use of regression analysis test. The results have read out that high school students’ intentions in the use of social media and their adoption level of social media have a wide variety of impacts on their success. When social media is used for learning, it makes contributions to improve the students’ year-end and foreign languages marks; when it is used to socialize with the others, it has adverse effect on the students’ success. On the other hand it has been proved that when it is used for learning, it helps the students improve their success.
