Carnival festivals are undoubtedly one of the most deeply rooted customs within the social context of Salamanca in late nineteenth century. At the beginning of the twentieth century, many of those traditions were lost for diverse reasons, among them «murgas», «comparsas» and some other different types of instrumental groups.
