Eskualduna was a Basque weekly published in the continental Basque country (France). The newspaper sold more than 7,000 copies during the Frist World War. Content analysis of the publication’s articles written during the war reveals that this newspaper supported France unconditionally by expressing great faith towards the French Army. The Basque Country was considered as a part of France: Basque soldiers who died in the war, were glorified both as French national heroes and as exemplary Basques. In conclusion, this Basque weekly was a promoter of the French national feeling among Basques.
