In April 2005 the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa started this Project aiming at the development of the Pompeii Information System. The project is financed by ARCUS Spa and developed together with the Archaeological Superintendence of Pompeii. The System has been designed by SNS and implemented by Liberologico Srl. The first step has been delivered in March 2008. The second step of the project will look into the design and publication of an official website and the installation of an OAI server in order to allow the harvesting of contents from national and European Digital Libraries and cultural Portals.
