In this article we study the life of Suor Angela Serafina, a Catalan Capuchin nun who lived in the second half of the 16th century. It analyzes her life experience of marital violence on the part of her husband. Widowed with children, she decided to enter the convent where she led an exemplary life and was considered holy in life. Her process of beatification, initiated immediately after his death, and reopened several times (the last in the framework of the Barcelona Tragic Week) never prospered. It explores the reasons that prevented this woman from completing her career toward holiness.
