The Spanish colonization in America has been, from the first moment, a theme of historiographic controversy. And it was on like that during the 18th Century. That’s why, in the middle of the Century, before the vehement apologies in the reign of Carlos III, we can find the defense of the Spanish colonization by a creole, Llano Zapata, in an expressively epistolary dialogue with the erudite Gregorio Mayans.
