The insufficiency of professional militaries forces produced Philip V depended considerably on Castilian neighbours in arms to defend his dynastic rights during Spanish Succession War. The Castilian militias became in an important instrument of social mobilisation: in one hand, because that militias had been habitually employed in the past century to preserve some frontiers of the Spanish Monarchy -Mediterranean coast, north African places-; and, in the other hand, because that companies could been easily controlled by local elites and royal agents. Thanks to that militias, Philip V obtained a extensive recruitment of the Castilian population, as succeeded, for example, in Murcia Kingdom, one of peninsular fronts with more armed activity between 1706 and 1707.
