El “Efecto Bilbao”. La expresión de una excepción o un camino a imitar

This paper is part of the academic discussion on territorial and urban policies oriented towards the dynamic role of great urban structures, museums and so on. In this case, it’s about the role played by the Guggenheim Museum in the revitalization of the metropolitan area of Bilbao. In terms of Lynch it would be a "landmark" that ceases to be an attribute linked to urban morphology to become a singular artifact derived from the architectural manipulation of space. The analysis progresses through the set of strategic programs of urban intervention in which the renewal of the contemporary city is inserted.
