The discovery of an Iron Age necropolis in Las Cabezas de San Juan (Seville) has once again revealed the problems of understanding the funerary world of the Tartessian era. These are primarily due to the lack of an archaeological record before Phoenician colonization and the ethnic attribution of tombs dating to the Orientalizing period.
