Memory, iconography and landscape: a purpose of using photography as a geographic source The memory is a human faculty of clear importance in the management of knowledge. It locates them temporally and spatially and becomes an essential factor for our identity recognition, both individually and socially: “personal memory versus collective memory”. a) one of the methodological options of geography, the “historical” call in which this work is inserted, processing the various sources and data of the past to achieve the present explanations. b) among them, photography has reached a clear value especially in the analysis of processes of landscape changes fast and in cases in which it is possible to have “photographic series” that is able to set the process in pictures, faithful transcripts in reality. c) from those methodological perspectives, will present a case study: the banks of the Guadalquivir by Coria del Rio (Seville).
