A complete information for the study of the history of forests between the 16th and 20th centuries in Castile and Leon is provided by different historiographical sources. The simultaneous use of these sources makes possible to contrast the existing differences in understanding the problematic connected with tree-covered lands (woods) and the exploitation of the resources of those lands.
