In some parts of the UK there is a lack of availability of orthodontic care to meet the treatment needs. With the advent of Dentists with Special Interests (DwSIs), Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) will have further opportunity to develop their clinical network in orthodontics to meet the needs of their local population through the appointment of DwSIs.
