Otimizar um processo produtivo e de fundamental importância para as industrias, uma vez que as mesmas devem ter pensamento a longo prazo para que atinjam seus objetivos planejados. Em vista disso, realizou-se um estudo em uma industria de confeccao de ternos masculinos, localizada no Parana, objetivando a organizacao de um de seus processos produtivos. O Sistema Toyota de Producao (STP), utilizando conceitos e tecnicas de producao enxuta, sobreveio para auxiliar, atraves de um estudo focado no balanceamento de linha e em uma das sete perdas, por Transporte. O STP capacita a empresa para responder com rapidez as constantes mudancas da demanda do mercado, seguindo suas dimensoes: flexibilidade, custo, qualidade, atendimento e inovacao. O presente artigo mostra que e possivel diminuir o transporte interno de material e pessoas, organizando o layout produtivo, ou seja, mostrou ser um metodo adequado para eliminar desperdicios e aumentar a produtividade. ABSTRACT Optimizing a production process is of fundamental importance to industries since they must have long-term thinking to achieve their planned objectives. In view of this, a study was carried out in an industry of men's suits, located in Parana, aiming the organization of one of its productive processes. The Toyota Production System (TPS), using concepts and techniques of lean production, came to assist, through a study focused on line balancing and one of the seven losses, by Transportation. TPS empowers the company to respond quickly to the constant changes in market demand, following its dimensions: flexibility, cost, quality, service and innovation. The present article shows that it is possible to reduce the internal transport of material and people by organizing the productive layout, that is, it proved to be a suitable method to eliminate waste and increase productivity.
