ABSTRACT The informational models observed in the societies, which include actors, organizations, actions and information policies are influenced by current information systems. This paper aims to undertake reflection on the influence of the current information system, marked by the presence of new actors as market and production sector, on the constitution of the object field of study of Information Science, translated especially for objects and boundaries present in the researches of the area. Such influence can be observed in the literature review that indicates the emergence, from this new system, of another scientific production model, more pragmatic and related to commercial and business interests. For this, it was undertaken an exploratory and bibliographical research. At that moment, it was identified a tendency in the area in order to adapt their research to the demands of the new system. But, in the other hand, many authors argue that not all efforts should be directed to research with practical purposes. It should have space for researches which intend to consolidate the theoretical and epistemological framework of the area. Keywords : Study field-object. Information Science. Information system.
