Na busca pelo emprego no Brasil, um debate especifico adquire importância, uma vez que polariza posicoes dicotomicas: Uma identifica-se com a construcao discursiva acerca do trabalhador capaz de se adaptar frente as novas exigencias do mundo do trabalho. Outra posicao refere-se aquela que considera tal conceito uma transferencia de responsabilidade pelo emprego, da sociedade e do Estado para o trabalhador. Em particular, este artigo buscou identificar a analisar como o termo empregabilidade tem emergido no ambiente academico em Servico Social. Foi realizada uma pesquisa descritiva e qualitativa, a partir de entrevistas semi-estruturadas com a coordenadora, uma professora e quatro alunos, todos do curso de Servico Social da UFPE. Foram analisados tambem dados secundarios do referido curso. Os resultados indicaram que o discurso prevalente acerca da empregabilidade e aquele que transfere ao individuo a responsabilidade pelo emprego. Apesar de o curso estudado ter um posicionamento mais critico, de base marxista, os alunos entrevistados nao o apresentam. Quando questionados sobre empregabilidade, os alunos tendem a reproduzir o discurso neoliberal sobre o assunto. Palavras-chave: empregabilidade; Servico Social; trabalho. ABSTRACT In the job search in Brazil, a specific debate acquires importance, at time that polarizes dichotomist positions: One, is identified with the discursive construction on the worker able to adapt in front of the new requirements of the world of the work. Another position is those one that considers such concept, transference of responsibility for the job, the society and the State for the worker. In particular, this article searched to identify and to analyze how the term employability has emerged in the academic environment in Social Service. A descriptive and qualitative research was carried through, based on interviews semi-structuralized with the coordinator, a professor and four pupils, all belonging to the course of Social Service (UFPE). Secondary data from the related course had also been analyzed. The results had indicated that the prevalent speech concerning the employability is that one that transfers to the individual the responsibility for the job. Although the studied course to have a more critical positioning, of marxist base, the interviewed pupils do not present it. When questioned on employability, the pupils tend to reproduce the neoliberal speech on the subject. Keywords: employability; Social Service; work.
