The objective of this paper is to address the issue of Algeria's integration into sustainable development. We question here the effectiveness of the Algerian policies of sustainable development implemented in the last fifteen years. To do this, we used a set of statistical indicators for each of the three dimensions of sustainable development. The results of this research have shown, among other things, that progress towards sustainable development in Algeria is still moderate. Indeed, the culture of sustainable development seems to have little presence in Algerian society. As a result, public authorities have the role of better informing and sensitizing businesses, public bodies and citizens on environmental issues.
